Watch: Virat Kohli mocks Rilee Rossouw with the Bazooka Celebrations

Royal Challengers Bangalore met Punjab Kings in a do-or-die match in Dharmshala on 9th May 2024. A loss in the game would have meant elimination from the IPL 2024. Therefore, the emotional flow was very natural and was reflected several times in the field. One such incident took place in the second innings during an altercation between the Punjab Kings middle order batsman Rilee Roussouw and the star RCB and Indian batsman Virat Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bangalore put on a mammoth 241 runs on board courtesy of a fantastic 92 off just 47 balls by Virat Kohli. Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green also contributed with fantastic innings of 55 and 46 respectively. Chasing 242 runs, Punjab Kings had a shaky start after losing their first wicket just at the score of six runs after Prabhsimran Singh failed in an all-important game.

Rilee Roussouw and Jonny Bairstow then took over the reins and built a solid partnership before the departure of the English Star. Rossouw however went with the slow and scored a fantastic half-century in just 21 balls. He celebrated his half-century in his trademark bazooka celebration. However, his celebrations were short-lived and he soon departed with a score of 61 runs. Things took a funny turn when Virat Kohli mocked Rossouw by funnily emulating his celebrations.

What are RCB’s chances to qualify for the Playoffs?

Eventually, RCB won the game easily by a margin of 60 runs and provided a major boost to their campaigns. If the results go their way they have a mathematical chance of making it to the eliminators. RCB team has shown good cohesion after losing six games in the first seven matches. The signs are good and the team must be ruing the fact that it lost the initial games.

As far as the altercation between Virat Kohli and Rilee Rossouw ended in the friendly manner after the match when both were seen sharing a friendly chat after the game.
